Prints

Making prints is something that I have been doing on and off since I was nineteen. My father, the painter Guillermo Trujillo, was a professor at the University of Panama and while there, one of the many activities he pursued was engraving on metal. He acquired a printing press and installed it in one of the faculty halls where other professors and interested students could learn and experiment with the technique as they drank coffee and talked politics or art. I was one of those students. Later on, when he retired he took the press with him, and I eventually inherited it and made use of it mainly with small dry point on copper plates and mono prints. At Pilchuck Glass school I learned about printing on glass plates. This year I have been working with linoleum and woodblocks.
